16 Nov Queen Sibiya Classic Preview (WE 1.2)
After Queen Nandi Challenge, the first UCI-ranked one-day race of the inaugural KZN Summer Series, it is time for the second race of the 2016 KZN Summer Series, the Queen Sibiya Classic. Taking place on Thursday 17 November, the one-day UCI WE 1.2 ranked race is a 119-kilometre loop starting in Midmar Dam (near Howick) heading to Mooi River before heading back to Midmar Dam. The race is named after Queen Sibiya, who stood up to an abusive husband, in which it is one of the first historical steps leading to the empowerment of women in the country today.
Mavi García, Lourdes Oyarbide and Yessica Pérez (Bizkaia-Durango) will be our Spanish representatives at the first edition of the South African one-day race.
