La Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta Preview (1.WWT)

190 days after inaugural race of the UCI WWT at the historic city of Siena, it is time now for Madrid, Spain. The second edition of La Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta (previously ranked as UCI WE 1.1) will witness the final round of the 2016 UCI Women’s World Tour.

Once American rider Megan Guarnier (Boels Dolmans) mathematically guaranteed her victory at the inaugural UCI Women’s WorldTour series, the attention lies in both the secondary standings and the partial victory.

Lingering concussion symptoms, following consecutive crashes while competing during the European Spring classics season have prevented previous winner Shelley Olds (Cylance) from defending her victory at the inaugural edition of La Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta.
