17 Jun Giro del Trentino Preview (WE 2.1)
The 23rd edition of the Giro del Trentino Alto Adige gets back to its previous format of a stage race with three stages in two competition days (from Saturday, June 18th until Sunday, June 19th). First a hilly stage from Torri del Benaco to Daone (an uphill finale), a half-stage team time trial of 11.5 kilometres with start and finish in Cavedine and a final 70-kilometre hilly half-stage with start and finish again in Cavedine.
Despite the fact that the race clashes with Aviva Women’s Tour, the Italian race will feature some of the best riders of the international peloton such as Swiss rider Jolanda Neff (Foton Servetto), German rider Claudia Lichtenberg (Lotto-Soudal) or Polish rider Kasia Niewiadoma and French rider Pauline Ferrand Prevot (Rabobank-Liv). Italian rider Fabiana Luperini holds the victory record at the Italian race with six victories overall (1995, 1996, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2008).
